Would be a good way to explain this weekend. I took Friday off to be with the bride to be and we ran a lot of errands. You know the important stuff, getting our nails done, eating good food spoiling ourselves ;-) So much fun. Then we came home and got ready for the rehearsal dinner. This took off smooth sailing. Of course me, loud mouth, just got everyone where they needed to be. I knew what Nat wanted so we got it that way....plus I was tired of my husband asking when we were going to eat :-) Bless him! Then we ate some bbq mmmm.
So Saturday morning I got up and waited on Nat and Amanda to come pick me up for our hair. Of course I have no pics developed...you want to know why? My brain does not work and I keep forgetting! So of course I had to make a coffee run before they got to me and we all three were dying for that. We got to April W. and got started with the beauty making process ;-) It was so much fun we were all just cutting up and laughing, it was fun bonding time.
We were running right on schedule and we were in the car heading to the church. So Amanda asks me to pray....ok at this point I am still good and when I started praying I could feel my lump in my throat but I was determined to hold it together.....for now.... We got there and put our dresses on. Natalie looked beyond beautiful. I was just on cloud 9 all day for her. Everything was beautiful. So I start getting Aubree ready (my 2 year old niece) and as I am trying to fix her hair I put her clip in my mouth and she says "Aunt Mel, get my clip out of your mouth that is dirty!" Now let me just stop talking about the wedding one moment to go over something. This child gets on to me more than her parents get on to her!!!! She is constantly correcting me and its all things that she should be correcting me....she is more mature than I am lol. Ok so I get her ready and she just loved her dress justa twirling etc.
Pictures go great. I went in the reception area to finish some touches and then we were ready. Oh no let me first say April C. helped as Wedding director and she got Nat to say a special message for Harry on the recorder. They both walk out happy.....they both walk in crying lol I fired April after that ;-) jk.
So we all get in line and preparing to walk out and I look over and Natalie is already crying!!!!! So I am holding it together and I can feel it creeping lol but I was bound and determined! The music was so elegant and everyone did so good. As I am walking down I started crying then got up on stage look down and my mother is crying and the Laney girls are crying I mean come on people help me out here! The wedding was so pretty. When we were walking out Aubree seemed to just want to stand there and watch everyone so I grabbed my escort's arm and proceeded to guide my niece down the isle with my hand on her back lol it made a good ending!
Oh gosh at the food. My mother, for those who do not know her, I have come to find out is Super Woman. You think I'm joking? She did my entire wedding. Excluding cakes. All the dresses etc. My mother even did Nat's cakes! I am looking at them going "why was this talent not handed down?" It was spectacular! Everyone enjoyed themselves! There was so much food left over ......my mother over does it sometimes lol.
And then it was seeing the bride and groom off to their honeymoon (which we later found out was Canada...Lake Louise. That was a secret for a long time) And clean up started.
I was on cloud 9 all of yesterday as well. I love weddings. Every time I go to a wedding it floods my memories of my own day. It was absolutely perfect and I remember every word I said to my "groom" who is now my husband of 2 years.
How time flies. September has escaped me and I think now our busy life will slow down for just a little while. We have Halloween to look forward to, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I love this time of year. I love the atmosphere and the songs when you walk in department stores. I love the extra bit of love everyone shows each other. I also love sweaters and hats and scarves and gloves. I think that is one thing that Nick can say about his little ol wife is there are small things that just get me giddy! And normally there is a song that I can make up about it as well haha.
I hope everyone is having a great beginning of the week and stays safe!

17. Pray continually 18. giving thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Encouragement
This weekend I went to Ladies Day at Magby Gap church of Christ. I love going to Ladies Days, they are so inspirational. I wish there were one every Saturday lol. Our speaker spoke on time. She took a different angle than I thought she would but it was still good.
None of us know how long we have here on earth. I never really think about that. God tells us how foolish we are for planning ahead because we do not know if we will be here then. We just take it for granted that we will. How scary to think you have plenty of time here on earth to talk to those who do not know God or are falsely taught and yet you live everyday and not approach any of them....some being your friends. When you get in front of God, will you be able to answer why? Why didn't you talk to just one person a week? Do you know how many people I come across a week!!!! Yet we waste time and talk about mindless things, what we did, where we are going, etc.
Make it your goal this week to just encourage someone and talk to them about God. What He did for us and what He continues to do for us. You don't have to hit someone over the head with the bible and your beliefs. God tells us to sow the seed lovingly! He will do the rest.
Love to all.
John 3:16

Such a good weekend!
Friday night - We played Douglas.....that is all I am going to talk about on that topic...
Saturday - I woke up with a very strict schedule! I had to get up and start making all the dips for my sisters lingerie shower. We had 7 layer dip, bean dip, hot salsa cheese dip, original queso dip, and spinach dip! They were all so good! I had to make the cakes hehe which you will not see pics of ;-) I ran to Dollar Tree to pick up balloons and Luckys to pick up sherbert for the punch. I had the house decorated and people started arriving. Jessica, April, Haley, Katrina, Amanda and Tabitha and of course Natalie and myself. We all had such a good time at the shower just laughing and being silly.
Then Jessica had to leave but the rest of us jumped in Haley's van and off we went to B'ham to the Cheesecake Factory. And from there we went to Sips n Strokes. Oh so much fun! For those who have never been it is so well worth it! We all had such a good time cutting up and making fun of ourselves. This was a pic of my final artwork lol. The lady who was the owner said that we had one of the hardest pictures to paint GEEZ! Then we headed home. It all went by so quickly especially since this is the one event I have been planning for month and now it is over :-( It was perfect though and the Bride to Be looked like she had a blast.
Now I have a few things going on this week and Haley and I are going to Lady's Day at Magby Gap, which I am really looking forward to because their lady's days are so good! Then next weekend is the wedding! This month holds so many special memories so I am constantly on cloud 9 trying to take everything in. I pray to God every night and thank Him for giving me so many wonderful opportunities in life.

Weekend was too short!
I really need to go get my film developed...or go buy that extension where I can download my pics.
Friday night - Ball game. We won Woo hoo! It was kind of pitiful because the other side had maybe 25 people there. Plainview always has a good crowd.
Saturday - We got up and cleaned and then got ready and headed out to Nashville for Brookie's wedding. We had such a good time. First of all I love hotels (its a weird thing I have) and so I was excited about that. I was so excited to spend time with my friends of course! And we got to share Brooke's big day with her! Now she is Mrs. Cibik and the little dog is vacationing in Hawaii right now ! We all hit downtown Nashville afterwards. As April put it, we wanted a "honkey tonk" place where people were singing. It was so crowded! Plus the streets were packed. There were so many homeless people begging on the street,.....it was so sad. My heart always wonders what is going through their minds when they have to live day to day and I realize how blessed I am because I never have to think about where my next meal is coming from. When I want something I go get it, we take so many things for granted. God has blessed my little family of 2 more than anyone will ever know (its somewhat freaky sometimes how things work out lol). I need to make a mental note to acknowledge that more often.
So then Sunday I did some baking for my sister's lingerie shower Saturday. Now I cannot wait till that. I have had it planned for 5 months now, and it is only 4 days away!!! She is going to die and have so much fun!
Then Monday I got up and went shopping with my sis in law. Not many good sales but we hit dollar tree for my sister's decorations and that was the highlight of my trip because I love that store so much!!!!
Next fun thing up is my sister's lingerie/bachelorette party. Then I have a ladies day the following Saturday and then my sister's rehearsal and wedding!!!!! We are counting down the days and it will be a lot of hard work but my mother just did an absolutely beautiful job with mine and she is doing my sisters.

Wednesday Night Class
Have I mentioned how much I love my kiddos! I was sad last night because 2 of my girls graduated to the 1st grade class :-( When they came to get them out of my room it suddenly dawned on me that this was a new school year and some of my kids would be leaving.....and I didn't want them to go lol. My class felt empty last night because instead of my usual 8-10 children, I had 5! The class did go smoother without any interruptions though ;-)
I just always leave church on Wednesdays with a warm smile on my face because of them. One little girl just out of no where last night said "I love you Ms. Melissa" while we were doing our activity and I just smiled and said "I love you too Ms. Maddie" Oh gosh I just want to squeeze all of them and protect them from this wicked world.
I pray every night for the children of this world. Me working at the District Atty's office made me more fearful for young children because they are so helpless and innocent and they trust everyone and there are so many who destroy and abuse that trust. I pray that God hears all the cries of the children and saves them...because no one else will.

Encouragement
Isaiah 48:17
"This is what the Lord says - your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go."
I pray that I never take the "direction" that is best for me, but that I fervently pray for God to lead me where I need to go and that uplifts my Christian life.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I know I have shared a verse already....
But this one stuck out to me:
1 Thess 4:11
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you. 12. so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and that you will not be dependant on anybody.
Too much time is spent being idle now a days. Spend the time that you would normally use being negative and nosey and use it to help someone.
Love to all!

Reminder
Matthew 22:36-37
36."Teacher, which is the greatest command in law?"37. Jesus replied, "Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
